The Fight for Success Fingers
by Tamra Brathwaite
Success involves: faithfulness, investment, God, humility and taking.
How can you endure anything if you aren't determined to do what ever it takes? For one to be successful they must be faithful to the 'cause' (i.e whatever you are willing to achieve) and being faithful means a commitment to endure the evident obstacles and challenges along the way. It's about making sound choices to stay positive which will eventually override the negative energies of failure and discouragement.
Many of us tend to think that we can succeed without investing. Investment according to Dictionary.com is "a devoting, using, or giving of time, talent, emotional energy, etc., as for a purpose or to achieve something."If we continue to fail to realize the importance of wisely investing our time, energy, talents and abilities into what we hope to become or achieve, now; then we are heading for a tomorrow of many disappointments and sorrowful hearts. However, the greater taste of success is not what we do for ourselves but what we do for others and yet, the greatest taste of success comes when we devote our lives to please God. Bear in mind it is better to give than to receive. As we pour into the lives of others we may recognize what really matters in life; and we will learn and grow to understand that real success brings about Life Change.
We use the middle finger to represent the letter G. This is a perfect picture of the importance of having God in the center of our lives. Without God we can not WIN the fight (of anything). We need God! Whether you believe or not, the pure truth remains that God is inevitable and All-powerful. Without Him we are nothing, can do nothing; and without Him we would have no life.
When God is at the center of our lives even the impossible can happen. Life without God is like a ship without a sail. We need God's guidance from day to day. God knows that we are incapable of being successful in life, hence He gave us His promise (which He will do if we believe): "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."(Jeremiah 29:11) NIV
How can I endure God's evident guidance in my life? The answer is PRAYER. In all your investing, spend time with God through prayer. God also wants us to consider His promises of success, we must therefore take time to study His Holy Word-The Bible.
Aggressiveness, control or dominance seem to be a few overriding factors of what success is in today's world. I wonder if the warning in Proverbs 16:18 brings any sense of alertness to those of us who think we can bride or pay our way to the top and truly succeed. Or those who think who are undisciplined and complacent. Can the truly survive the worst on the road to success? In order to become and remain successful, this is the awareness that we should embrace: "Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall."-HCSB version. When success comes our way we should be humble about it.
"Humility doesn't mean thinking any less of your self or having a low opinion of your gifts, talents or abilities. It means freedom from thinking about your self at all." -William Temple
"Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues: hence, in the soul in which this virtue does not exist there cannot be any other virtue except in mere appearance." -AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO, Michael Oren Fitzgerald's Christian Spirit
There is a great need for more geniuses with humility in world today. Perhaps this will eliminate the high rates of collapsing businesses and successful people in society. When w walk in meekness we showing enduring patience, humility and gentleness which expose us to a much greater light of success.
You can not be successful if you don't take risk and responsibility. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” ― Helen Keller, The Open Door -- Don't be afraid to risks! It will get you somewhere. If you don't, you'll go nowhere. Love the way Andre Guide puts it: “Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
Leo F. Buscagilla puts it that way: “The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.” You will only get what you work for. So it's up to you to decide whether you should take a step or sit and relax.
Know that you will be held accountable for your actions. Each step for success is by choice and faith. If you refuse to admit to your mistakes you will never learn and grow. Therefore the likelihood of your success will diminish. A successful person is not only equipped for teaching weaker ones, but he or she is willing learn. "The runway of responsibility and the wings of discipline takes flight to the the sky of success."-Anil Sinha Quotes. You must be accountable for every step that you take. Don't waste your time playing the blame game. What will worth the while is your effort to do better. As the choices you make today will affect your success tomorrow. Do what you have to do today and tomorrow you will look back and say with a smile, "I am well pleased."
"The price of greatness is responsibility."
