We all face the common challenge to 'give in' or 'give up'. There are times when this action revert to having something better, however, in most cases it is a deadly sign of defeat. Life is like a race, we fight to reach the top (of everything). For some life becomes unbearable, too much fuss, too much work and thus bring it to an end by taking their own lives. It is their 'sense of winning' the race, but actually life has defeated them, permanently.
When you face a discouraging moment, when you're weary and you feel like giving up (the challenge), either to live for God or to achieve an honorable goal in life. Remember to keep your eyes focused on the goal, or on the prize that will be paid; focusing on the obstacles or challenges that may come before as you seek to achieve will only lead you to defeat.
Desire is key to motivation but one must be determined and committed (to excellence) in order to gain success.
Do not compare yourselves with others; we are all uniquely shaped with our own strength and weakness, and your success may not be my success. But we can have the same goals yet one may see success faster than the other. This does not mean that success is off limits to the other person. No! Every one can succeed. It is said that whatever the mind can conceive and believable it can achieve.
"Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all." Ecclesiastics 9:11(ESV) "But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved", Matthew 24:13 (ESV). So when you're at your lowest point..... just have a little faith (in God). "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see", Hebrews 11:1 (NLT).
You can rise from whatever state your are in... move towards the goal with patience and endurance.
Detox defeat with determination. You can make it! Just stay focused of the goal. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us", Hebrews 12:1(ESV)
