No one really likes to wait. "Got to have it now!"
Patience is a relevant character trait in the Christian's life. As the Bible denotes it as part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians chapter 5. This is one of the most difficult character traits to develop in this very busy and competitive world. But in the midst of it all we tend to loose more than we gain simply because we fail to wait with patience "for it".
At times we become so angry and aggressive towards the withholding of God's blessings in our lives because we do not recognize the importance of waiting. Has it ever dawned on you that God is preparing something bigger than you expect? What if you get the blessing now, and yet you're still not completely satisfied? What if there is a better timing for that need to be supplied than the time you have in mind? God won't give us anything bad, whatever he does He does it well. But sometimes we create our own downfall because we become disobedient and impatient. God will not release the blessing if you're not ready to receive it. So wait without complaint through every discomfort. That's patience! Rejoice and be glad, don't fret! God is always on time.
Lets us look at some benefits of one who remains patient:
The One who is patient
“Patience is the companion of wisdom.” – St. Augustine
Have you ever watched the cartoon story of "Lambert, The Sheepish Lion" ?
Well I have! Here's the lesson(s) I have learnt from it...
The story illustrates some cons of being different but emphasis the magnitude of it's power.
It's okay to be rejected! It's okay to be misunderstood. It's okay to be unloved. Why?_You must be rejected to understand how you must love. Even Jesus was rejected, mocked, scorned bruised but in the process He taught us how to love. Being rejected helps you to love yourself because no one ever will, if you don't (except God). When you learn to appreciate yourself for who who are, you will learn to appreciate the things and others who are different from you. Self-acceptance will provoke you to help others to know that it's okay to be different. If you don't know how to accept yourself, you will not recognize your potential. So don't try to fit in. Stand out and be your own hero! Others will then learn to appreciate you for who you are.
"When rooted deep, there is no need to fear the wind."
"And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, "Behold, the sower went out to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. "Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil. But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away." Mathew 13:3-6
Be encouraged! It's a new day filled with new blessings. Yesterday's gone, tomorrow is yet to come, today is all we have. Pep-up your morning.
Have an inspiring day!
