Praise is most powerful when we learn to appreciate God in the midst of our darkest times. The moment we realize that we feel like giving up, it's not the time to quit! It is time to explode in glorious praise knowing that the God in whom you believe is able to keep that which you have committed to Him. "That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day. 2 Timothy 1:12" Your love for God will motivate you to honor His faithfulness and love for you even in your sufferings. This is why we can praise Him is even if we can't see ahead of us, when everything seems to be going wrong, because we can trust Him. You got to praise through the day (the good and the bad) and when the day is over...you can shout and say ....I've made it because God kept his promise! Then you can be re-assured that no matter how long it takes, before God come through for you, you can serve him still with confidence because He does all things well and He is faithful to keep his promises to you. "The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it." 2 Thessalonians 5:24.
Praise is a shift of your focus from the magnitude of your problems to the greatness of God. It is an intimate encounter with God. You're saying, God I appreciate you for who are, not merely for what you've done for me. It's like saying to your loved one, "Honey, I really appreciate your loyalty. I trust you, I know I can!" Think about the joy this will bring to your partner's heart. Well, God delights in our praises because it shows our enjoyment of Him (of who He is). It creates a bonding of love and a oneness in spirit. Praise to God helps us to stay focus on the things that really matters- our relationship with God. The magnitude of praise through your worst days would indicate the magnitude of your trust in God. Is like saying, "God for better for worst I will serve you, I will live for you!" God deserves our praise but "The magnitude of your praise is determined by the size of hell He has delivered you from", Rev. Sammy Rodriguez. That is why it is an intimate encounter. Praise evokes the power of God because He Himself dwells in your praise (Psalm 22:3)
