1. What is this verse asking us to do? "Commit" Transfer or give whatever your heart's desire is to God; whatever you plan to do tell Him about! God cares about us and our dreams, our concerns. He cares for us so much that He said, come bring whatever troubles your mind to me; give me your burdens and I'll carry them for you. Psalm 55:22 "Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." 1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (NIV) This should give us a reason to fully depend upon God and trust Him to fulfill His promise to us. Trust Him to direct your every step. Let Him work it out for you, His way. Things may not always go the way we plan but God is big enough, wise enough and He keeps His promises. But while you are waiting for God to work for you, don't sit idle! Still serve Him with your whole heart. Continually seek Him for help and guidance. Make yourself available for His use! But wait on Him patiently in faith.
2. Why is God asking us to commit our ways to him? "... He will establish your plans."
You see when God is in the show, the greater the outcome. The Lord will fulfill your plans but we cannot yield fruits or be successful without obeying God's commands. Obedience to God's Word= Prosperity. (Read Deuteronomy 28: 1-14; 30: 8-10) Psalm 37:4,5 "Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of your heart." Your dreams can be fulfilled, your burdens can be lifted, hope can be restored in you, you can succeed in whatever you do when you trust God with your life.
