You may be among the many of us who have heard this phrase at least once in your life, "The Battle is not yours; (it's the Lord's).
When I didn't have a better sense, I use to think that each individual is their own boss. We make our own decisions, and each of us has our own life to live. We try to survive this journey in the best way we know. As I started to know God more, I experienced Him more. I understood better that without God, man would have never existed.
It was a striking realization that "I am not my own boss." If I were my own boss, I would not feel so constantly in need. If I am my own boss, then why do things go out of control in my own life? Why don't my plan always work?
We all have a responsibility of how we live our lives but we do not have ultimate control of it.
The fact that God created us makes it evident that we are not in charge. Hence, we often find that life sometimes becomes unbearable because we simply don't have the power over what ultimately happens in and around us.
God has given us the wonderful gift of His Jesus Christ as Our Commandeering Chief on this battlefield. Without Him we may all collapse to mere corpse in no time. Hence, it is imperative that we stay connected to Him and be ready and willing to move on His call. We must always be attentive to His voice to know what the next step is. You may not always know His plan, but you can trust Him, cause His way is perfect. Have you not heard? God has never lost a battle!
No one knows and understands the tactics of the Satan , the enemy of our life, better than God does. That's why we need Him to guide and lead us through. We would never have full victory if we don't admit to God's control and power. Give God an admission ticket to your life today! But, what would you admit Him as? Your servant or your commander?
Although God is already predominantly in charge over our lives, when we look to our own ways and hold unto our onto strength we're telling God that we don't need Him. He can rest. Well, the truth is God never gets tired, we do. He never runs out of options, we do. But even though you don't admit to God's control of your life, He never stops fighting for you. It is not His duty, it is His pleasure. He takes pleasure in being your Creator, God, He is delighted in your so much that He would do anything to give you the victory that you need. (Zephaniah 3:17)
Let the Lord Jesus Christ redirect your steps today. If you feel like you've tried all you can and nothing avail, stop trying and turn to the Commandeering Chief. Let Him fight for you. He will bring you the victory!
"For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory." -Psalm 149:4-NIV
