Hold nothing back! This phrase implies an act of surrender, "no pretense"... giving your all. Many situations in life calls for us to surrender our will, wants or desires and at times even our needs. It is never our genuine interest to sacrifice what we want, to give up our will or desire. An action of this nature is very humbling. It makes one neglect their true interest in realization of (or to meet) someone else's need or want. We can look at "giving your all" in terms of doing your best (for you), or giving of your self to others. When I say "giving of yourself", I mean serving others (whole-heatedly) in meaningful ways.
Surrender to Serve
The best picture of surrender is when Jesus offered up His life as a sacrifice for us. He did not pretend to be better than anyone (although he was without blemish, without fault). He humbled Himself, gave His life for us all even though we don't deserve it. Those who abuse, oppress or persecute us should be given our best. We should serve them humbly. When we set apart our selves to serve others in meaningful ways our own lives will become satisfied and will find meaning because we invest in things that really matters. Mark 8:35 -"For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it."
Jesus's sacrifice did not only depict a picture of true and complete surrender but also the power of love and the beauty of humility. God gave us His Best. He gave His All. Are you giving God your best? Have you surrendered all of your life to Him? There might be something in or a part of your life that God is asking you to surrender. Give it up! Hold Nothing back! It is when you would have surrendered "all of you" to God that you would experience a fully satisfied life and full assurance of your needs.
God doesn't just wants us to surrender, He wants us to serve. After all, He created us to serve (Ephesians 2:10). Someday God will reward us for the time we took to invest in the lives of others for His Name's sake (Romans 14:12). When Jesus surrendered to The Will of God, His Father, He served the whole world. Your needs were more important to Him (and still is) than His own desires. How much more can you loose if you deny your self and follow Him? Did He not give everything He had to save you (John3:16)? In fact, GOD IS EVERYTHING WE NEED! You will realize that when in life, He is all you got. Think about it!
Surrender...become a servant of God.... a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ! SURRENDER! SACRIFICE! SERVE! Enjoy true ROYALTY as you show God some LOYALTY.
Blessings to all! :)
