Today you may be holding unto things that are bad you. You know that it is dangerous to your health, to your emotions, to your self and to others. It could destroy your relationships with your friends and family. But no, you wont give it up because you love it. It's hard to let it go because you've had it all your life. You fear that giving it up will cost you too much. Giving it up is like loosing your life. You feel like you'll loose everything that you have and ever will have. "Why should I give up something that I know for something that I do not know about?" "If I give up my drugs, if I give up drinking and promiscuity, then my friends will look down on me. If I drop out of the gang, then the leader may try to kill me." Well, you'll probably be "more dead" if you stay in. Truth be told!
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:1-14 (ESV)
Fear not, have a little faith. God's got your back! When life don't make sense to you. When the problem is too big for you. When fear overwhelms you. When everything you've tried failed. God always has a solution. He will make a for you. He is holding the key to door for your next blessing! Will you trust Him?
Our passion to fulfill our own lust, our own pleasure, blurs our vision of the reality that our lives are in danger. But sometimes even when we realize the danger, we tend to play with toys that are bigger than our hands and in the process we get hurt. Like they say, "you play with fire, it will burn you." It's like trying to fight someone bigger than your size. But you don't have to get hurt. You don't have to loose. Don't put your life on the end of the rope. Stop trusting in your problems, instead rely on God's help! He will deliver you from all your troubles. (Psalm 91:15). Let God fight your battles, He always wins.
Sometimes the safest thing to do is to let go. God will do something knew, something good, something great in your life today, if you will let go of the things that seems to bind you and control. Don't let your circumstance control you; if any thing control you, let it be the hand of God for He will control your problems too. Can He handle it? Yes, He can! But, letting it go is the first step to your victory, to a fresh start. Ask God to take control, accept that you can't handle it and tell him that you trust Him to care of you. Focus on what God can do instead of the problem. This will lessen the control that the situation has over your life and, instead God will guide and lead some where safe, somewhere amazing. You'll never regret it.
Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV) “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Let it go! "Let not your heart be troubled." -(John 14:1) God's has already prepared the way of escape. "Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture." (Psalm 37:3)
