“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Life is like a wrestling match. In a real life wrestling match the participant exerts much engery, the fight to stay standing and win is always intense. The opponent gives thier all as they struggle to put the other down. In the same way, the devil tries to pin us down and make us feel so weak and defeated by using the pressures of life and obstacles keep us from standing strong and reaching the finish line. He uses his evil plans to keep to us from serving God whole heartedly by distracting us with worries and cares of this life. A Christian has one final goal. His opponent, Satan has one major aim; to stop him from acheiving that goal which is to reach the finish line. Satan will try eveything to hold you back from going forward with God. God in His might and power will do anything to keep you on track. Simply don't ever take your eyes of the goal. You take your eyes of the goal...it is only a matter of time, you will hit the bottom of the ground becuase you are not focused on the goal. So you get knocked out by a blow or two by your opponent.
You may get some bruises and hit the ground and cry. So, what? Do you have to stay down? No! Yet this is the point where you may not have a plan. John Lewis says, "Everyone has a plan until they're hit." A great fighter is tactful and has a strategic plan. “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” – Sun Tzu. Humanly we may not be capable of developing strategies far greater than our opponent or we may not be more tactful than him, but we have the greatest support from the most powerful and eminent God. God empowers us through His Holy Spirit to enable us to survive the blows, to rise again and feel no alarm. Yes, you rise and fight back. Never back out without winning the fight! Keep your mind on the goal. Press on. It's not always easy and yes you may get hurt but keep on fighting. The prize is yours if you keep at it! This was the Apostle's Paul attitude in Philippians 3:14. He says, "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Read further Philippians 3:15-21). Muhammad Ali once said, “There are no pleasures in a fight but some of my fights have been a pleasure to win." So the struggle would be great but just keep trying, you'll eventually see the light of your reward.
Friends live above sea level. You can survive the pain, the hurt and endure the race because God will carry you though trials should come. Be assured that God has regarded your helpless estate. When we fight against all odds, we show our true character. When we remain faithful to God in the midst of all troubles we are sacrificing our lives for God. We are expressing our deepest love for Him under the most strenuous circumstance. When Jesus suffered and died, it was only to prove who He truly was- The Son of God. God allowed Him to suffer to prove His love towards us. Jesus endured much suffering, yet He was unbeatable. In the same manner Christians are unbeatable and can persevere God and a life of eternity with Him in His Kingdom to prove our true Christian character.
KEEP ON FIGHTING ! Live above sea level.
